紐約著名地標「時報廣場」（Times Square）以歷來最大水晶球迎接2026年的到來，降下繽紛亮片。

CNN報導，今年這顆歷年最大、被命名為「星座球」（Constellation Ball）的水晶球，直徑達3.8公尺左右，重量約略超過5443公斤，鑲有5280片圓形的沃特福（Waterford）水晶，分為3.8公分、7.6公分和10.2公分3種不同尺寸，並配有LED燈盤。

氣象預報顯示，元旦凌晨時報廣場氣溫將降至約攝氏0度，也可能伴隨飄雪，或許今年跨年會是自2017年底、2018年初以來最冷的一次。
