ABC新聞華府首席特派員卡爾（Jonathan Karl）2日在X貼文說，他晚間與美國總統川普通話時，川普就伊朗最高領袖哈米尼之死，表示「我趕在他得手前，先收拾了他。他們試了兩次，但是是我先得手」。
川普指的是，美國情治單位相信，伊朗當局試圖在2024年解決川普。
