澳網／瓦林卡打滿5盤創史上首見紀錄 笑稱「喝酒」備戰下輪
瑞士40歲名將瓦林卡（Stan Wawrinka）已宣告今年賽季是最後一舞，昨天澳洲網球公開賽與21歲小將吉亞（Arthur Gea）奮戰4小時33分鐘，在5盤大戰驚險拿下勝利，他賽後受訪時直言：「累壞了！」
吉亞雖然世界排名僅198名，但上一輪打敗大會第17種子萊赫茨卡（Jiri Lehecka），實力不容小覷。瓦林卡比賽中偶爾使出招牌暴力單反，靠驚人體力及意志力，才在第5盤搶10大戰辛苦勝出。

瓦林卡成為1978年以來首位40歲以上、晉級大滿貫第三輪的選手。第49次大滿貫五盤大戰則超越瑞士同胞費德勒（Roger Federer），史上最多。當被問到在場上奮戰4小時33分鐘的感受，瓦林卡直呼：「累壞了！」
全場觀眾幾乎一面倒支持這位曾拿下3座大滿貫的瑞士傳奇，瓦林卡表示，「就像我跟你們說的，這將是我最後一次打澳網，所以我會盡可能撐久一點。我不只玩得很開心，你們也給我滿滿的能量。我不年輕了，所以真的需要這些額外的支持。」
當被問到如何恢復身體，面對下一輪對手，美國第9種子弗里茲（Taylor Fritz）。瓦林卡提到比賽中觀眾啤酒罐掉進場的插曲，他笑說：「我要拿杯啤酒來喝，我值得！」
