【Speak, Sweet Memory】

In the shortwave radio, someone is singing. Unexpectedly, the melody is out of tune. In my childhood memory, my brother’s sturdy figure gradually fades away. The farther he goes, the smaller his silhouette becomes.

The hero’s shoulder could never undertake the weight of reality.

Would the remnant memories overwhelm our expectation for the future or would it lead us to open up our stubborn hearts?

This play tells a story that Mr. Tien, a vocalist who was born in an army courtyard in Beijing, visits Mr. Wang, a TV producer who grew up in a military dependents' village in Taiwan. An out-of-tune song The Past Can Only Be Savored in Memory take them back to their childhood memories. These two men found that they both enjoyed secretly listening to the radio programs and music shows transmitted in shortwave frequencies from the other side of Taiwan Strait when they were young. While chatting with each other, Mr. Wang had sudden whim to adapt their stories into a TV program. They talked while performing and singing. The two men also found that they have similar life stories. They both have an elder brother who is not the successful; however, both have strong feeling of brotherhood that is alienated yet inseverable…
