On February 19, 2013, Asia Society Southern California honored Yao Ming (姚明) as the Visionary of the Year and John Chiang (江俊輝) as the Asian American Leader of the Year at its Annula Gala Dinner.
Chiang is the son of immigrants from Taiwan. He was born in New York and grew up in Chicago. Chiang has a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
