●Former Olympian turned “transgender” activist Bruce (“Caitlyn”) Jenner scolded President Trump on social media for not renewing a controversial Obama federal mandate pushing schools to allow “transgender” students to use opposite-sex bathrooms and changerooms, or risk losing federal funding.
●Jenner sent out a video on his Twitter . Talking directly to the camera, he says: “I have a message for President Trump from, well, one Republican to another. This is a disaster. And you can still fix it. You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community.”Jenner says to Trump, “Call me.”
●But Jenner’s statement received a mixed response on social media from many self-described defenders of LGBTQ rights, with some blasting her with the messages: “What did you expect?” “We told you so”: “Too little too late.”
●“BISH PLEASE,” tweeted the politically outspoken actress and comedian Kristina Wong. “You know we all warned you. You can’t vote for a fascist and eat your cake too. ”
●Wong also issued this challenge to Jenner to leave the Republican party:”His campaign kicked off w/ “Mexicans are rapists”. You thought you as a marginalized trans woman were exempt from that hate?”
●“Does this mean you are turning in your Republican card? Or are you just going to keep being shocked that this is happening?”
●He and Trump have gone back and forth on the “transgender” issue, with Trump even welcoming Jenner to use the female restroom at Trump Tower in New York.
●But others voiced support for Jenner’s gesture, saying she has a right to be Republican and that she can now use her high profile to put pressure on him to reverse his decision.
●Jenner acknowledged that Barack Obama and the Democrats had been “very good” for the transgender community. But she asserted that Trump would surprise people, saying: “Trump seems to be very much for women.”
